It happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, said the department in a statement. Officers were dispatched to the store at 1871 South 5th Street for a report of shots fired, police said.

Minutes later, a 22-year-old man was brought to St. Luke's Hospital-Sacred Heart Campus where he died from his injuries, the department said. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Edgar Gonzalez of Allentown and ruled his death a homicide.

The second victim was brought to an area hospital around the same time and treated for "non-life-threatening" injuries, police said.

Allentown police, the Coroner's Office, the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office, and the Homicide Task Force are investigating, authorities said. There is "no physical danger to the community at this time," they added.
